And a battery is not just a battery. For many smartphones — and especially for iPhone — several types of replacement parts are available today. They can differ in origin, technology, condition, included components, refresh rate, installation method and even in the message that appears on the device after installation. This gives repair professionals more choice than ever. But more choice also means you need to know **what you are buying and why**. That is why [Mobileparts.shop](https://www.mobileparts.shop/en/dashboard) clearly distinguishes between different part qualities and variants. In this guide, we explain the options available and help you choose the right part for each repair. --- # 1. Start with quality: where does the part come from? The first choice is the **quality level**. This tells you more about the origin and construction of the part. ## Original **Original** means that the part is sourced directly from the device manufacturer and is identical to the part originally installed in the device. This is the right choice when maximum certainty regarding fit, performance and compatibility is important. ## Service Pack For iPhone, we also offer **Service Pack** parts. These are original Apple parts that are technically the same as parts purchased directly from Apple. The difference is the sourcing channel: Service Pack parts are purchased through Apple partners rather than through our direct Apple distribution channel. For that reason, these products are not sold under our Genuine or Original designation and do not carry the Genuine badge. ## Best possible Sometimes a stable supply of one specific quality is simply not available. In those cases, we use the term **Best possible**. This means that we supply the best quality currently available. Depending on the product, this may be Factory Standard, Pulled, Refurbished or Compatible. This is especially relevant for certain iPad displays and MacBook parts. ## Pulled **Pulled** parts are original parts that have been removed from another device and reused. These are therefore used original parts that are still technically suitable for another repair. Displays, batteries and small parts generally have little to no visible wear. Besides maintaining original quality, Pulled parts offer another important advantage: **a perfectly usable component gets a second life instead of being discarded.** ## Refurbished A **Refurbished display** retains the original LCD or OLED panel. Components such as the front glass, polarizer or touch panel are replaced. For older LCD displays, the backlight may also be renewed. You therefore get a display with an **original display panel combined with replacement components**. --- # 2. Compatible displays: different technologies for different budgets Not every repair requires an original display. That is why we offer several aftermarket display technologies. ## In-Cell **In-Cell** is an aftermarket LCD technology in which the touch sensor is integrated into the LCD structure. Compared with basic compatible LCD displays, In-Cell generally offers better image quality, brightness and touch performance. This makes it an attractive combination of quality and price. ## Compatible Soft **Compatible Soft** uses a flexible Soft OLED panel. Within our compatible display range, this is the premium aftermarket OLED solution. Its flexible construction is closer to the structure used in many original OLED displays. ## Compatible Hard **Compatible Hard** also uses OLED technology, but with a rigid OLED panel. Image quality can be comparable to Soft OLED, while the price is usually lower. The disadvantage is that Hard OLED displays are more fragile because of their rigid construction, making them more sensitive to installation damage and impact. ## Compatible Budget When price is the most important factor, **Compatible Budget** is available. These displays are fully aftermarket and are positioned as our entry-level display quality. A simple way to look at it: | Your main priority | Possible choice | | --- | --- | | Maximum manufacturer quality and certainty | **Original** | | Original Apple through alternative sourcing | **Service Pack** | | Original quality combined with reuse | **Pulled** | | Original LCD/OLED panel | **Refurbished** | | Strong aftermarket LCD price/quality ratio | **In-Cell** | | Premium aftermarket OLED | **Compatible Soft** | | More affordable OLED | **Compatible Hard** | | Lowest possible repair cost | **Compatible Budget** | The best option therefore depends not only on the device, but also on **what your customer expects from the repair**. --- # 3. Quality is only the beginning: check the variant as well Two displays with the same quality level can still be very different. That is why Mobileparts.shop uses additional variants and icons on product pages. A display can, for example, be supplied: - **With or without small parts** - **With or without battery** - **With or without camera unit** - **With or without frame** - **Frame pre-assembled** - **With or without IC** - **With or without adhesive** - **With a 60, 90 of 120 Hz refresh rate** - **With 'Used', 'Unknown' or 'Genuine' label after calibration** - **As 'LG', 'Toshiba' or 'Sharp' version** The idea is simple: you can choose how much work you want to do yourself and how much of the assembly should already be prepared for you. ### Example A **Frame pre-assembled** display can save installation time. A **Without IC** version can be useful if you want to transfer the original IC. After installation and calibration, a display may be shown as: **'Genuine'** **'Used'** or **'Unknown'** Which message appears depends on factors such as the display type, sensor flex or IC used, iPhone model and iOS version. That is why, where relevant, we clearly indicate the expected status in our product information. For certain displays, it is also possible to transfer the original IC. When this is performed correctly, it may help retain the expected part status, depending on the iPhone model, display type and iOS version. Not every aftermarket display technology offers the same refresh rate for every model. Depending on the model and quality level, Mobileparts.shop supplies replacement displays with refresh rates including: **60 Hz** **90 Hz** **120 Hz** IC swap compatibility also differs depending on the model and display type. LG, Sharp or Toshiba? Sometimes the original manufacturer matters Certain iPhone LCD models were supplied with displays from different manufacturers. You may therefore find variants such as: **LG** **Sharp** **Toshiba** For certain repairs or refurbishment processes, it may be important to match the replacement display to the original version. This can help ensure compatibility with the original display electronics and touch functionality. --- # 7. Batteries: much more choice than Original or Compatible Battery options have also become much more varied. Besides the quality level, you can choose between different battery types. ## Normal battery The standard replacement battery for everyday use. ## High-Capacity For selected models, we offer batteries with a higher rated capacity than the original battery specification. Depending on the model, this can be up to **25% higher**. ## High-Capacity — iOS18+ ready With this variant, the device can show **Used** after calibration, while the cycle count resets to 0 and Battery Health displays 100%. ## Without BMS This battery is supplied without the Battery Management System board. This allows the original BMS board to be transferred to the new battery cell. Pulled batteries: choose the Battery Health level Used original iPhone batteries are also available in different conditions. Our Pulled batteries can be available in five Battery Health grades: **80–85%** **85–87%** **87–90%** **90–95%** **95–100%** This allows you to match the cost of the part more closely to the value of the device and the desired repair level. For an older device, an 85–87% battery may be perfectly suitable. For a higher-value repair, a 95–100% version may be the better fit. Rear covers: with or without small parts A rear cover is not always just a piece of back glass. Depending on the model and variant, a middle frame may already contain components such as: dock connector, speaker, vibrator, volume/power flex cable, wireless charging components, antenna, flashlight or LiDAR components. Which parts are included depends on the iPhone model. Pulled rear covers: A, B or C? A used original rear cover can be technically excellent while still showing different levels of cosmetic wear. That is why we divide Pulled rear covers into three grades. ## Pulled A The best cosmetic condition. Only very limited cosmetic wear is allowed, such as a small number of light scratches or tiny marks, without significant paint loss. ## Pulled B More visible signs of use are allowed, including additional scratches, minor colour differences and limited paint loss. ## Pulled C More noticeable cosmetic wear is accepted. This may include scratches that can be felt with a fingernail, larger scuffs, visible colour differences or more extensive paint loss. That may sound like a lot. But ultimately, it gives repair professionals **more control**. You do not have to use the same type of part for every repair.
