New packaging for Promiz & Impact: the next step in quality, sustainability and presentation
In 2019, 2Service launched its own accessory brands, Promiz and Impact. Today, the concepts are present in more than 300 stores. Over the years, practical experience, feedback from business owners and developments in sustainability have provided valuable insights. These are now coming together in an important next step: new packaging for Promiz and Impact.
To develop the new packaging, Product Manager Anthonie van Elferen and Head of Sales Kay Hubbers travelled to China. Together with 2Service's 30-strong team in China and local suppliers, they set out to find the right solution.
Why was it time for new packaging? What exactly is changing? And what does this mean for business owners? We spoke to Anthonie and Kay to find out.
Promiz and Impact have been around since 2019. What was the original idea behind these brands?
Kay: From the very beginning, quality has been at the heart of both brands. Our philosophy has always been that a high-quality product also deserves an attractive appearance and presentation in store.
That's why we developed not only products, but complete retail concepts with POS materials, signage and a variety of display and presentation solutions. These range from floor and counter displays to complete wall displays and combinations of these.
Today, the Promiz and Impact concepts are present in more than 300 stores. Together with business owners, we continuously look at how accessories can be presented as effectively as possible and how they can contribute to margins and profitability in store.
Why was now the right time to update the Promiz and Impact packaging?
Anthonie: Several developments came together. Because we're closely involved in both product development and the market, we receive a lot of feedback from business owners about what does and doesn't work in practice. Packaging and the way products are presented in store are regularly part of those conversations.
At the same time, sustainability is becoming increasingly important, and there is growing demand for less packaging and more sustainable packaging materials.
Developing together with our team in China, suppliers and business owners
What is the right packaging for our products, our business customers, the consumer and the future?
You travelled to China as part of the development process. Why?Kay: Our team in China has played an important role in the sourcing and quality control of our own brands from the very beginning. The team now consists of 30 employees.
Together with our colleagues in Shenzhen, we extensively reviewed and assessed different materials, packaging options and suppliers. It wasn't just about how the packaging looks. Functionality, material use, recyclability and how the product is presented in store were also important considerations.
By combining our knowledge of the market and feedback from business owners with the expertise of our team in China and our suppliers, we ultimately arrived at the new packaging.

From feedback to new packaging with a focus on sustainability
What exactly is changing about the packaging?
Anthonie : One of our key objectives is to reduce the use of unnecessary materials. The new packaging is recyclable and plastic-free. In doing so, we don't just want to create more attractive packaging, but also take a conscious step towards making our own brands more sustainable.
For example, the plastic window, plastic hanging hook and magnets used in the previous Promiz packaging have been removed.
At the same time, the new packaging features an open cut-out, allowing consumers to see the case directly. This improves the product experience and makes it immediately clear which product and version they are looking at.
Does more sustainable packaging mean business owners will have to pay more?
Anthonie & Kay: No. Although making products and packaging more sustainable often involves additional costs, we are ensuring that this change does not result in a price increase for business owners.
That was an important principle for us. We want to create a better and more sustainable packaging solution without compromising our customers' profitability.

The right packaging for the right concept
Why do you use packaging for Promiz and Impact, while LifeWire products are offered without individual packaging?
Anthonie & Kay: This is a good example of how the right solution can differ depending on the brand and product.
We've also learned a great deal from business owners' feedback on LifeWire. In the past, we sold Promiz cables and chargers in individual packaging, among other products. Business owners increasingly asked us why individual packaging was actually necessary. After all, a cable or charger can also be supplied without individual packaging, as long as its quality, product specifications and reliability remain the same.
This feedback contributed to the positioning of LifeWire: high-quality cables and chargers that meet our quality standards and all required specifications, at a competitive price and without unnecessary packaging. This is more sustainable while also contributing to margins and profitability in store.
Promiz and Impact are different. For these brands, packaging is an important part of the in-store presentation, brand experience and recognition. That's why we've deliberately chosen to retain packaging for these brands, but in a more sustainable form that uses as little unnecessary material as possible.
Does the new packaging have any impact on product quality?
Anthonie: No. The change concerns the packaging, not our product quality standards.
When developing and sourcing our products, we will continue to check that they meet our quality requirements, product specifications and relevant certifications. The introduction of the new packaging does not change this process.

Enhanced presentation in store
What does the new packaging mean for in-store presentation?
Kay: Presentation was an important part of the development process. The open cut-out makes the product itself more visible.
When different colours and versions, such as covers and softgrips, are displayed next to each other, it also creates an attractive and well-organised overall presentation.
In this way, we combine functionality and recognisability with a strong visual appearance and a more conscious approach to packaging materials.
The new packaging is on its way. The accessories for the iPhone 18 series are the first example. What can business owners expect?Anthonie: The accessories for the iPhone 18 series will be offered in the new packaging right from launch. This makes them the first products where business owners and consumers can see the new concept in practice.
The new packaging will then gradually be rolled out across Promiz and Impact.
What happens to products that are still in the current packaging?Anthonie: They will continue to be sold as usual. We've deliberately chosen a gradual transition.
This means that, for a period of time, two packaging variants may be displayed side by side in stores. When designing the new packaging, we made sure that its appearance complements the existing concept, so both versions can be presented alongside each other without any issues.
We're also not going to repackage existing stock on a large scale or ask stores to repackage products. That would result in unnecessary use of materials and waste. Instead, the current packaging will be phased out naturally.
What is ultimately the most important message behind this change?Anthonie: That we continue to develop our brands together with our business customers. The new packaging brings several elements together: feedback from the market, strong in-store presentation, reduced use of packaging materials, and maintaining quality and profitability.
We're extremely grateful to the business owners who have shared their thoughts and experiences with us over the years. This collaboration helps us continue to develop Promiz and Impact in ways that increasingly reflect what works in practice.
The new packaging is therefore more than just a change in appearance. It's the next step in the development of our brands and towards a more sustainable future.
What else can business owners expect in the coming period?Kay: We'll continue to develop Promiz, Impact and LifeWire based on market developments and feedback from our customers. The new packaging is one part of this.
We'll continue to focus on the combination of quality, sustainability, presentation and commercial profitability for business owners.
